About

So what’s the blog about? Everything and nothing, whatever strikes my fancy. I’ve been a journalist for nearly two decades, used to read about seven newspapers a day. I quit the New York Times a good 10 years ago. I saw their blinding bias long before most commentators started bellyaching about it. Used to be a die-hard Washington Post reader, but it too has lost its way to almost knee-jerk bias. Same holds true for just about every big-city newspaper in U.S., and sadly for most smaller papers as well.

Nowadays, I scan dozens of news web sites and more than a dozen blogs. My interests span the spectrum from politics, technology, science fiction, the outdoors, conservation (as opposed to environmentalism) fashion, books, movies, cultural stuff in general, and religion. I’ll toss up an opinion and some links now and again as the spirit moves.

BTW, the name for my blog comes from a song by Mojo Nixon & Skid Roper. I’d been searching for a name for a blog I wanted to write, but eveything I liked was already taken. One Saturday I was over at my brother’s place just shooting the breeze when a song came over his massive apartment-spanning sound system. The song was called “Debbie Gibson Is Pregnant With My Two-Headed Love Child,” by Mojo Nixon & Skid Roper. The second verse got us both to laughing pretty hard, when all of sudden a lightbulb went off. Eureka! That’s the name of my blog: Knucklehead Idjit Galoot.

Thanks for stopping by,

Knucklehead
