Maybe Not So Stupid After All
Maybe the Stupid Party will wise up after all and vote en bloc against the Democrats pork-a-palooza “stimulus” bill which will have absolutely no affect in pulling the nation out of the Democrat-induced recession.
Politicois reporting that House Minority Leader John Boehner is telling his Republican colleagues to vote against the bill.
For the first time, it seems, congressional Republicans, shut out of power and seemingly cowed by the harsh verdict of voters and wild popularity of the new president, are finding their voice, rallying in large numbers against the centerpiece of Obama’s agenda.
Apparently there was some advantage to losing control of Congress; without moderate wusses the conservative Republicans have emerged to take a stand against the colosal waste of money.
With most moderates having retired or been defeated, especially among House Republicans, there is little political danger in opposing nearly another trillion dollars in spending at a time when many conservative-leaning voters are weary of government intervention after months of bailouts.
From Hot Air:
House Republicans discovered that they do not have to vote for Barack Obama’s stimulus in the name of bipartisanship when the package doesn’t provide stimulus and instead focuses on Democratic pork wish lists. Minority Leader John Boehner and GOP whip Eric Cantor have instructed the Republican caucus to oppose the massive $825+ billion legislation, which some now call the Pelosi-Reid-Obama Debt Bill.
