CHICAGO – Cell phone footage showing a group of teens viciously kicking and striking a 16-year-old honors student with splintered railroad ties has ramped up pressure on Chicago officials to address chronic violence that has led to dozens of deaths of city teens each year.
The graphic video of the afternoon melee emerged on local news stations over the weekend, showed the fatal beating of Derrion Albert, a sophomore honor roll student at Christian Fenger Academy High School. His death was the latest addition to a toll that keeps getting higher: More than 30 students were killed last school year, and the city could exceed that number this year.
Prosecutors charged three teenagers on Monday with fatally beating Albert, who was walking to a bus stop when he got caught up in the mob street fighting, authorities said.
The violence stemmed from a shooting early Thursday morning involving two groups of students from different neighborhoods, said Tandra Simonton, a spokeswoman for the Cook County prosecutor’s office. When school ended, members of the two groups began fighting near the Agape Community Center.
The attack, captured in part on a bystander’s cell phone video, shows Albert being struck on the head by one of several young men wielding wooden planks. After he falls to the ground an appears to try to get up, he is struck again and then kicked.
Prosecutors charged Silvonus Shannon, 19, Eugene Riley, 18, and Eric Carson, 16, with first-degree murder, and they were ordered held without bond on Monday, said Andy Conklin, a spokesman for the Cook County prosecutor’s office. The Cook County Public Defender’s Office, which represented the three teenagers in court, had no immediate comment Monday.
Chicago police said charges are pending against a fourth suspect and that they are looking for at least three more suspects, but would not discuss a possible motive for the attack.

Turns out Manuel Zelaya, now back in Honduras, is just plain bat-shit crazy.

It’s been 89 days since Manuel Zelaya was booted from power. He’s sleeping on chairs, and he claims his throat is sore from toxic gases and “Israeli mercenaries” are torturing him with high-frequency radiation. “We are being threatened with death,” he said in an interview with The Miami Herald, adding that mercenaries were likely to storm the embassy where he has been holed up since Monday and assassinate him.
“I prefer to march on my feet than to live on my knees before a military dictatorship,” Zelaya said in a series of back-to-back interviews.
Like Saddam Hussein, Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro, etc., etc., etc., Zelaya is a nut. Unlike them, he was prevented from becoming a dictator by the people of Honduras and their democratically elected government.

The Purpose of War…
…Is the break the enemies will to fight.
But The Obama has tied the hands of our troops in Afghanistan, requiring them to retreat if Taliban fighters are in the presence of civilians.

When enemy action kills our troops, it’s unfortunate. When our own moral fecklessness murders those in uniform, it’s unforgivable.
In Afghanistan, our leaders are complicit in the death of each soldier, Marine or Navy corpsman who falls because politically correct rules of engagement shield our enemies.
Mission-focused, but morally oblivious, Gen. Stan McChrystal conformed to the Obama Way of War by imposing rules of engagement that could have been concocted by Code Pink:
* Unless our troops in combat are absolutely certain that no civilians are present, they’re denied artillery or air support.
* If any civilians appear where we meet the Taliban, our troops are to “break contact” — to retreat.
These ROE are a cave-in to the Taliban’s shameless propaganda campaign that claimed innocents were massacred every time our aircraft appeared overhead. (Afghan President Mohammed Karzai and our establishment media backed the terrorists.)
The Taliban’s goal was to level the playing field — to deny our troops their technological edge. Our enemies more than succeeded.
Thanks to The Obama’s continuing failure as a leader.
For crying out loud. Why are we in Afghanistan if not to win this stupid war? How do you win a war? You break the will of the people you’re fighting against.
I know it’s a tragedy when civilians get caught in the crossfire. But it is not our troops who are hiding behind women and children, it’s the Muslim dirt bags.
And let’s not forget, those women and children–their fathers, grandfathers, husbands and sons, all–agree with the sick policy of combantants hiding behind innocents. In my book, that means there are no innocent civilians.
We will not defeat these animals until we make the cost of war too high for them to continue. That means destroying their towns, homes, schools, mosque, businesses, power plants, factories, roads and bridges, killing their soldiers and anyone else who stands between us and victory.
The longer we pussyfoot around, the more emboldened the dirt bags become, and the longer ths stupid war will last.
It isn’t just that war is hell. It’s that war must be hell, otherwise why would the enemy ever quit?

After The Obama’s appalling bad performance before the UN, it’s a relief to hear a real leader speak truth to the collection of dictators, tyrants and thugs that comprise the United Nations.

Where’s Jack Bauer When You Need Him
So federal investigators arrest a bunch of dirt bags for allegedly plotting to blow up stadiums, subways, etc. One of the alledged bombers is a 24-year-old Afghan who went to Pakistan last year to attend bomb making school with Al Qaeda.

Investigators say Najibullah Zazi, a 24-year-old Afghanistan-born immigrant who is a shuttle van driver at the Denver airport, played a direct role in the terror plot that unraveled after an overnight 1,600-mile trip from Denver to New York City around the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. He made his first court appearance Monday and remains behind bars.
The FBI said they found notes on bomb-making instructions that appear to match Zazi’s handwriting, and discovered his fingerprints on materials – batteries and a scale – that could be used to make explosives. He also made a trip to Pakistan last year in which he received Al Qaeda explosives and weapons training, the government said.
Did you catch that first sentence? Zazi is a shuttle van driver at the Denver airport.

WTF! A jihadi wannabe Bombs-R-Us graduate is driving airport shuttles. Don’t they do background checks on these people. Sheesh.
That’s like all the TSA security people at Dulles airport. I don’t think a single one of them speaks English. Yet they manage to get through the TSA interviewing, screening and testing process to land jobs at an airport.
Meanwhile, potentially dangerous passengers have to remove shoes and belts, get the full-on grope by your friendly TSA screener, have our computers and bags pawed through, have to dump any shampoo bottles with more than tablespoon of shampoo in them.
But the shuttle bus drivers, TSA screeners, janitors, food prep people and the rest who get to run around behind the security cordon at any airport in the country pretty much get a free pass regardless of whether they been to Bomber U in PakIraqIranistan.
I mean I can understand that on Sept. 10, 2001, a flight school instructor may have thought it odd that his pupils weren’t so interesting in landing planes, just getting them up in air and pointing them at tall buildings, but really didn’t think much of it.
Hey, who would have thought, then, that someone or a bunch of someones would fly planes into buildings and murder people?
But today? Now?
Is there nobody sane working at the airport shuttle company or TSA or anywhere?
“Hi, I come from Pakistan and build bombs for fun. I am having job at airport bus driving.”
“Hey, no problem there Haji, hop aboard I’ll show you the route. Here let me help you with that backpack. Jeez pal, what you got in that thing? A bomb, ha ha.”

Defund the Left
If conservatives ever win back significant control of the White House and/or Congress, job number one should be defunding the left.
The latest scandal out of The Obama administration is the further corruption of the National Endowment for the Arts. Administration officials urged recipients to push The Obama agenda through the arts.

Deeds Won’t Raises Taxes, Unless He Raises Taxes
The Republican Party of Virginia put out this delightful video of a confused Creigh Deeds explaining his position on taxes.
Even the reporters writing down his words and quoting them back to him are confused.
Interesting how he dances around the whole idea of raises taxes for the general fund, but somehow needs to raise funds for transportation. So maybe there won’t be a general tax increase under a Deeds administration, but probably some significant gouging on car taxes, gas taxes and who knows how many fees will get increased.
Just want a state and nation need during a recession. More taxes.
