Many that live deserve death. And some die that deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then be not too eager to deal out death in the name of justice, fearing for your own safety. Even the wise cannot see all ends. — J.R.R. Tolkien

Another Idiot for the Fairness Doctrine

Posted in: News,Politics | February 27th, 2009 | No Comments »

Sometimes politicians say things that are so stupid you have to wonder how they even manage to breathe.

Consider this from World Net Daily:

Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, has joined up with other influential Democrats, including President Bill Clinton, Sen. Tom Harkin of Iowa and Sen. Debbie Stabenow of Michigan, in calling for a resurrection of the so-called “Fairness Doctrine”.

“I support the goals underlying the Fairness Doctrine. Democracies rely on a dispassionate press that reports

the facts with objectivity and presents a diversity of perspectives in its editorial content,” Brown wrote to a constituent who asked for the senator’s perspective.

The question and response were forwarded to WND.

“When a single ideology dominates the press – whether it is liberal or conservative – the line between information and propaganda can easily become blurred,” Brown wrote.

OMG! Does this clown actually believe that the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, ABC, AP, etc., “reports the facts with objectivity and presents a diversity of perspectives.”

Has he even READ a newspaper or watched television news even once in the last decade.

Honestly, how friggin stupid can this guy be? Really?

The sole reason conservative talkers dominate the AM radio band is precisely because of the lack of objectivity and editorial diversity in the big media.

Everywhere newspapers are dying because people are sick and tired of the constant liberal propaganda masquerading as news found in the pages of nearly every paper in the country. FoxNews channel routinely beats the stuffings out of its competitors for ratings because it’s the only channel on TV that makes any pretense of being “fair and balanced.”

Yet morons like Sen. Brown and other equally moronic Democrats want to impose “fairness” on the few alternatives to the monolithic liberal news business.

Shheesh.

Environmental Whackos Strike Again

Posted in: News | February 26th, 2009 | No Comments »

Just a few months ago, a popular outcry arose from Americans demanding that the U.S. government allow greater oil exporation and development within the U.s.

The Bush administration made some moves toward greater energy independence by reversing previous presidential executive orders banning offshore drilling.

However, not two months into office, The Obama administration is already putting a halt to imporant energy development, oils shales research in the West.

Institute for Energy Research president Thomas J. Pyle issued this statement:

Earlier this week, Secretary Salazar suggested America’s massive and homegrown reserves of oil shale held ‘great potential.’ Unfortunately, the Interior Department’s decision today may help ensure that potential never becomes reality – in the process, locking-away an American energy resource larger than the total reserves of the entire Middle East.

“At a time of great economic uncertainty, with millions of Americans out of work and state budgets stretched beyond their breaking point, responsible development of America’s abundant shale resources could be a way out of our current condition, and a way back to a better one. The Interior Department’s announcement today effectively forecloses that opportunity.”

With the environmental nazis now in control, we can expect a lot more of this sort of thing. They will lock up as much of the country, public lands and wilderness areas as they can. Not just energy development, but even innocuous things like beach access are threatened by these fools, who now have full control of the Department of Interior and the EPA.

Will Free Speech Be Put Behind Bars?

Posted in: Culture War | February 25th, 2009 | No Comments »

Read this speech by Dutch politician Geert Wilders on the Atlas Shrugs blog. I’m posting the whole thing because it’s a good speech about the precarious state we find ourselves in here in the West where freedom is taken advantage of by those who don’t believe in freedom at all.

SPEECH GEERT WILDERS NEW YORK, FOUR SEASONS February 23, 2009:

Thank you.

Thank you very much for inviting me. And – to the immigration authorities – thank you for letting me into this country. It is always a pleasure to cross a border without being sent back on the first plane.

Editor’s Note: Wilders travelled to England to give a speech but was met at the airport in London by U.K. immigration officials and told to get back on the plane and return home. Muslims in London threatened to riot if Wilders spoke in the city, and the government caved to their demands.

Today, the dearest of our many freedoms is under attack all throughout Europe. Free speech is no longer a given. What we once considered a natural element of our existence, our birth right, is now something we once again have to battle for.

As you might know, I will be prosecuted, because of my film Fitna, my remarks regarding Islam, and my view concerning what some call a ‘religion of peace’. A few years from now, I might be a criminal.

Whether or not I end up in jail is not the most pressing issue; I gave up my freedom four years ago. I am under full-time police protection ever since. The real question is: will free speech be put behind bars? And the larger question for the West is: will we leave Europe’s children the values of Rome, Athens and Jerusalem, or the values of Mecca, Teheran and Gaza?

This is what video blogger Pat Condell said in one of his latest you tube appearances. He says: “If I talked about Muslims the way their holy book talks about me, I’d be arrested for hate speech.” Now, Mr Condell is a stand-up comedian, but in the video he is dead serious and the joke is on us. Hate speech will always be used against the people defending the West – in order to please and appease Muslims. They can say whatever they want: throw gays from apartment buildings, kill the Jews, slaughter the infidel, destroy Israel, jihad against the West. Whatever their book tells them.

Today, I come before you to warn of a great threat. It is called Islam. It poses as a religion, but its goals are very worldly: world domination, holy war, sharia law, the end of the separation of church and state, slavery of women, the end of democracy. It is NOT a religion, it is an political ideology. It demands your respect, but has no respect for you.

There might be moderate Muslims, but there is no moderate Islam. Islam will never change, because it is built on two rocks that are forever, two fundamental beliefs that will never change, and will never alter. First, there is the Quran, Allah’s personal word, uncreated, forever, with orders that need to be fulfilled regardless of place or time. And second, there is al-insal al-kamil, the perfect man, Muhammad the role model, whose deeds are to be imitated by all Muslims. And since Muhammad was a warlord and a conqueror we know what to expect. Islam means submission, so there cannot be any mistake about it’s goal. That’s a given. It’s fact.

This is Europe 2009. Muslim settlers calling for our destruction, and free speech on trial. All this is the outcome of a sick and evil ideology, the ideology that is weakening us, the surrender ideology of cultural relativism. It believes that all cultures are equal, and therefore Islam deserves an equal place in the West. It is their duty, the left thinks, to facilitate Islam. This way the cultural relativists paradise comes within reach and we will all be happy, and sing kumbaya.

The forces of Islam couldn’t agree more. Islam being facilitated by government is their agenda too. But they see it as jizya, the money dhimmis pay in order not to be killed or raped by their Muslim masters. Therefore, they happily accept the welfare cheque or the subsidies for their mosque or the money governments donate to their organizations.

This is just one example of cultural relativists and Muslim settlers having the same agenda. There is another. Islam considers itself a religion and therefore we are not permitted to criticize it. The left agrees. Although it hated Christianity for decades, now that Islam appears on the scene, they suddenly change course and demand ‘respect’ for something they call a religion.

Again we see the left and Islam having the same agenda: it is a religion, so shut up.

This all culminates in a third coming-together: nor the left nor Islam is in favor of criticism. In fact, given the opportunity, they would simply outlaw it. Multiculturalism is the left’s pet project. It is actually their religion. Their love of it is so great, if you oppose it, it must be hate. And if you say it, it is labeled hate speech. Now here is something the Islam can agree on.

This is the essence of my short introduction today: where the left and Islam come together, freedom will suffer.

My friends, make no mistake, my prosecution is a full-fledged attack by the left on freedom of speech in order to please Muslims. It was started by a member of the Dutch Labour party, and the entire legal proceeding is done by well-to-do liberals, the radical chic of Dutch society, the snobbish left. Too much money, too much time, too little love of liberty. If you read what the court of Amsterdam has written about me, you read the same texts that cultural relativists produce.

How low can we go in the Netherlands? About my prosecution, The Wall Street Journal noted: “this is no small victory for Islamic regimes seeking to export their censorship laws to wherever Muslims reside”. The Journal concluded that by The Netherlands accepting the free speech standards of, “Saudi-Arabia”, I stand correct in my observation that – I quote – “Muslim immigration is eroding traditional Dutch liberties”.

Now, if the Wall Street Journal has the moral clarity to see that my prosecution is the logical outcome of our disastrous, self-hating, multiculturalists immigration policies, then why can’t the European liberal establishment see the same thing? Why aren’t they getting at least a little bit scared by the latest news out of, for example, the UK. News that tells that the Muslim population in Britain is growing ten times as fast as the rest of society. Why don’t they care?

The answer is: they don’t care because they are blinded by their cultural relativism. Their disdain of the West is so much greater than the appreciation of our many liberties. And therefore, they are willing to sacrifice everything. The left once stood for women rights, gay rights, equality, democracy. Now, they favour immigration policies that will end all this. Many even lost their decency. Elite politicians have no problem to participate in or finance demonstrations where settlers shout “Death to the Jews”. Seventy years after Auschwitz they know of no shame.

Two weeks ago, I tried to get into Britain, a fellow EU country. I was invited to give a speech in Parliament. However, upon arrival at London airport, I was refused entry into the UK, and sent back on the first plane to Holland. I would have loved to have reminded the audience of a great man who once spoke in the House of Commons. In 1982 President Reagan gave a speech there very few people liked. Reagan called upon the West to reject communism and defend freedom. He introduced a phrase: ‘evil empire’. Reagan’s speech stands out as a clarion call to preserve our liberties. I quote: If history teaches anything, it teaches self-delusion in the face of unpleasant facts is folly. What Reagan meant is that you cannot run away from history, you cannot escape the dangers of ideologies that are out to destroy you. Denial is no option.

So, what should we do? Is this a good moment for freedom-loving people to give in or to change course? To all-of-a-sudden start singing praise of Islam, or proclaiming there is such a thing as a moderate Islam? Will we now accept the continuation of Muslim mass immigration to the West? Will we appease sharia and jihad? Should we sacrifice gay rights and women rights? Or democracy? Should we sell out Israel, our dearest ally, and a frontline state of Islam?

Well, my humble opinion is: No way, Jose!

I suggest to defend freedom in general and freedom of speech in particular. I propose the withdrawal of all hate speech legislation in Europe. I propose a European First Amendment. In Europe we should defend freedom of speech like you Americans do. In Europe freedom of speech should be extended, instead of restricted. Of course, calling for violence or unjustly yelling “fire” in a crowded theatre have to be punished, but the right to criticize ideologies or religions are necessary conditions for a vital democracry. As George Orwell once said: “If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear”.

Let us defend freedom of speech and let us gain strength and work hard to become even stronger. Millions think just like you and me. Millions think liberty is precious. That democracy is better than sharia. And after all, why should we be afraid? Our many freedoms and our prosperity are the result of centuries of endeavour. Centuries of hard work and sacrifice. We do not stand alone, and we stand on the shoulders of giants.

Late December 1944 the American army was suddenly faced with a last-ditch effort by the Germans. In the Ardennes, in the Battle of the Bulge, Hitler and his national-socialists fought for their last chance. And they were very successful. Americans faced defeat, and death.

In the darkest of winter, in the freezing cold, in a lonely forest with snow and ice as even fiercer enemies than the Nazi war machine itself, the American army was told to surrender. That might be their only chance to survive. But General McAuliffe thought otherwise. He gave the Germans a short message. This message contained just four letters. Four letters only, but never in the history of freedom was a desire for liberty and perseverance in the face of evil expressed more eloquently than in that message. It spelled N – U – T – S. “Nuts”.

My friends, the national-socialists got the message. Because it left no room for interpretation!

I suggest we walk in the tradition of giants like General McAuliffe and the American soldiers who fought and died for the freedom of my country and for a secular and democratic Europe, and we tell the enemies of freedom just that. NUTS! Because that’s all there is to it. No explanations. No beating around the bush. No caveats.

Our enemies should know: we will never apologize for being free men, we will never bow for the combined forces of Mecca and the left. And we will never surrender. We stand on the shoulders of giants. There is no stronger power than the force of free men fighting for the great cause of liberty. Because freedom is the birthright of all man.

Zero Honesty

From Wizbang:  The O Stands for Zero Honesty:

“The times are too serious, the stakes are too high for this same partisan playbook” – August 28, 2008
“95% of working families will get a tax cut” – September 26, 2008
“I will put an end to lobbyists and special interests in Washington” – October 7, 2008
“What I’ve done throughout this campaign is to propose a net spending cut” – October 15, 2008
“I have been a strong proponent of pay-as- you-go. Every dollar that I’ve proposed, I’ve proposed an additional cut so that it matches.” – October 15, 2008
“to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn, I may not have won your vote tonight, but I hear your voices. I need your help. And I will be your president, too.” – November 4, 2008
“[The stimulus plan] contains an unprecedented level of transparency and accountability so that every American will be able to go online and see where and how we’re spending every dime. What it does not contain, however, is a single pet project, not a single earmark, and it has been stripped of the projects members of both parties found most objectionable.” – February 9, 2009
“So my bottom line when it comes to the recovery package is: Send me a bill that creates or saves 4 million jobs. Because everybody has to be possessed with a sense of urgency about putting people back to work, making sure that folks are staying in their homes, that they can send their kids to college.” – February 9, 2009

Happy Birthday TMQ2

Posted in: Culture War | February 22nd, 2009 | No Comments »

Three years ago, the folks at TMQ2 launched their blog.

The radical Muslim world has been affected in a huge way, thanks to us.

We established a new, higher bar of irreverence with our use of wit, humor, and satire via the written word – not to mention our PJs (Pejorative Jabs).

We’ve pissed off and enraged approximately half of the world’s anti-Semitic Arabs and other varieties of radicalized Muslims, like our fiends at terrorist front groups like CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations).

We are beaming with pride over our 7000+ posts of truth zinging around cyberspace, continually and repetitively enraging Islamofascist jihad freaks of nature.

We proved beyond a shadow of doubt that non-Muslim men have larger Bats and Balls than radicalized psycho-Muslims who’ve swallowed the non-prophet Mo’s madman theology, hook, line, and plonker!

The above accomplishments are merely a smattering of our influence in the GWOT (Global War on Terror).

We thank our military men and women for the work they do, and the thousands of loyal readers for appreciating our work here, and we look forward to the many more thousands we will accumulate as we move into the future.

Long Live TMQ!

Pretty good work in a such a short time. Congratulations guys.

Things that offend Muslims.

A pretty exhaustive list, but with a little practice I think we can all joyfully engage in most of the blasphemies.

John Connor Call Your Office

Posted in: News | February 22nd, 2009 | No Comments »

A warning from FoxNews:

Autonomous military robots that will fight future wars must be programmed to live by a strict warrior code, or the world risks untold atrocities at their steely hands.

 Yea, just ask John Connor.

The stark warning – which includes discussion of a “Terminator”-style scenario in which robots turn on their human masters – is part of a hefty report funded by and prepared for the U.S. Navy’s high-tech and secretive Office of Naval Research.

The report, the first serious work of its kind on military robot ethics, envisages a fast-approaching era where robots are smart enough to make battlefield decisions that are at present the preserve of humans.

Eventually, it notes, robots could come to display significant cognitive advantages over Homo sapiens soldiers.

We must stop them before Skynet becomes self aware.

ChiComs Rule

Posted in: News | February 21st, 2009 | No Comments »

Human rights activists are upset that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton won’t be giving the Chinese government a hard time over human rights issues, especially those surrounding the thorny issue of Tibet.

From Yahoo:

Amnesty International and a pro-Tibet group voiced shock Friday after US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton vowed not to let human rights concerns hinder cooperation with China.

Paying her first visit to Asia as the top US diplomat, Clinton said the United States would continue to press China on long-standing US concerns over human rights such as its rule over Tibet.

“But our pressing on those issues can’t interfere on the global economic crisis, the global climate change crisis and the security crisis,” Clinton told reporters in Seoul just before leaving for Beijing.

Let’s see, La Clinton is married to whom? Oh yea, former Pres. and Horndog Bill Clinton, who, incidentally, has taken gazillions in donations, both while in the White House and since being out of office.

And someone actually thinks the Clintons are going to do anything to slow the gravy train. They’re bought and paid for by the ChiComs, who cares about a bunch of Tibet monks.

“The United States is one of the only countries that can meaningfully stand up to China on human rights issues,” said T Kumar of Amnesty International USA.

“But by commenting that human rights will not interfere with other priorities, Secretary Clinton damages future US initiatives to protect those rights in China,” he said.

Old Kumar hasn’t gotten the memo: human rights issues are only important to Democrats when they can be used to bludgeon Republicans.

My Congressman Replies

Posted in: Economy,Politics | February 21st, 2009 | No Comments »

Sent off an email a couple weeks ago asking my congressman, Rep. Rob Wittman (1st-R), to vote against The  Obama-Pelosi-Reid Pork Paloosa bill. I’m grateful that he joined the rest of the Republicans in the House in unanimously voted against the stupid waste of money.

This morning in my email, I recieved the following reply from the congressman:

Thank you for contacting my office to express your opposition to H.R. 1, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. I thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with me on this important issue, and I agree with you. I value your views on the important issues facing our Commonwealth and the Nation.

As you may know, the House of Representatives considered H.R. 1 for a second time on February 13, 2009. This bill passed the House by a vote of 246-183 and included $789.5 billion in new spending and tax provisions.

In the current economic environment, I believe Congress needs to act decisively, but responsibly. I also believe these efforts should be timely, targeted and temporary. Less than 15% of the spending for infrastructure and other projects designed to create jobs will occur in 2009. Unfortunately, the majority of the spending in this legislation simply creates or expands existing federal government programs. These funding increases and program expansions will create enormous pressure to continuing funding at the same levels in the future, which is expected to cost an additional $1.7 trillion over ten years.

Many of the federal departments and agencies will see record increases in the funds they administer but no additional oversight, which is a recipe for waste, fraud and abuse. For example, the stimulus contains almost $40 billion for the Department of Energy (DOE), a department with a current annual budget of only $25 billion. The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has previously cited DOE’s current efforts to fund projects as “inadequate” and at “high risk” for waste, fraud and abuse.

Additionally, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the federal deficit will increase to $1.2 trillion or 8.3 percent of the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2009. H.R. 1 also increases the national debt limit to $12.104 trillion. This is a long-term cost that I do not wish to transfer to our children and grandchildren.

Ultimately, I opposed H.R. 1 because it did not provide solutions supported by sound economic policy that were both timely and targeted. I believe we should focus on broad, growth-oriented incentives that encourage economic activity and job creation across all industries in the near term, such as tax cuts and targeted spending for transportation and other infrastructure projects. The difficult and challenging economic environment demands timely and effective solutions that provide relief to hardworking Americans and small businesses that will not burden our children and grandchildren with large deficits.

To this end, I have cosponsored H.R. 470, the Economic Recovery and Middle-Class Tax Relief Act. This legislation would reduce individual income tax rates across the board by 5 percent, repeal the AMT, increase the child tax credit from $1,000 to $5,000, permanently repeal the Minimum Required Distribution (MRD) for Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA), reduce the corporate income tax rate to 25 percent, reduce the alternative capital gains rate for corporations to 15 percent, and extend the carryback period for net operating losses to seven years.

Lastly, I want to reiterate that I am deeply concerned about our economy and believe that something must be done, but it must be the right thing in order to get our economy going again. I will continue to work with my colleagues in Congress to promote positive, equitable solutions to our nation’s economic challenges.

Thank you again for sharing your views and opinions with me. I am committed to serving you to the best of my abilities. If I can ever be of assistance to you or your family, please do not hesitate to call me at (202) 225-4261 or contact me online at: www.wittman.house.gov.

Sincerely,

Robert J. Wittman
Member of Congress

If you haven’t yet contacted your Representative or Senator on this federal spending madness, it’s not too late to do so. If your congressman did the right thing and voted against the bill, send him or her a short note of thanks.

Finally a Reason to Vote Republican

Posted in: Economy,Politics | February 20th, 2009 | No Comments »

At least one Republican plans to reverse The Obama-Pelosi-Reid Pork Paloosa bill if they return to power in 2010.

From GatewayPundit:

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) says that Republicans will cancel the Spendulus bill that extends for the next several years if the GOP is voted back into power in 2010.

“I would like to say tonight that if the American people will let the Republicans back in charge, the 60% of this bill that won’t be spent until after the next election, we’ll cut it off and let it go to the Americans.”
